TEEN COURT ORIENTATION
What is Teen Court?
Teen Court is an alternative to the traditional juvenile justice system. Teen Court is a dynamic nationally acclaimed diversion program for first-time juvenile offenders. It is designed to divert less serious cases away from the more formal juvenile courts.
How Do I Earn Community Service Hours Through Teen Court?
Teen Court utilizes high school students to serve as attorneys, bailiffs, clerks, and jury members. Student attorneys interview juvenile offenders and their families and prepare their cases. They present their cases before a jury of students who decide the punishment. Teen Court is a REAL COURT run by teens, for teens.
