Our Purpose:

The purpose of CHEACC, Inc. is to provide support and encouragement to local, Christian home school families. The organization was established upon basic Christian values and principles found in the authoritative Word of God. Individual members are encouraged to reflect those principles during CHEACC, Inc. functions and activities.

Our Focus:

At CHEACC, Inc. you’ll find a diversified group of home educating families. Some members adhere to strict curriculum planning, while others follow learning through unit studies. There are also members enrolled in on-line courses of study and local co-ops. We encourage this diversity at CHEACC, Inc. We believe it is the responsibility of each family to decide their own home school philosophy and establish their own programs.

Our Membership:

The membership within CHEACC is as diverse as each family’s home schooling philosophy. Some are families with pre-schoolers who are interested in learning more about home education. Others are first-time home schoolers who join CHEACC  to receive the much-needed support and encouragement for their new adventure; others are veteran home school families that have home schooled their children all the way through high school. Each family makes their own decisions concerning curriculum choices, lesson planning, and compliance with state and federal laws. CHEACC, Inc. simply serves as a vehicle for support, encouragement, and information so our members can home school more effectively.

Membership Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith is an established standard of CHEACC, Inc. It may not be altered or amended in any way.

  1. I believe in one God, who is eternally existent in three persons:

    • God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

    • God the Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, who suffered, died and was buried. On the third day He rose bodily from the dead, He ascended into heaven where He now lives, sitting at the right hand of God the Father. He shall return literally from heaven to judge the living and the dead.

    • God the Holy Spirit, sent into world from the Father and the Son, who inspired the writing of the Scriptures. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He affects spiritual birth. He indwells, enlightens, and empowers believers and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

  2. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16, NKJV)

  3. I believe God originally created man righteous and without sin. Adam and Eve, by an act of disobedience, brought sin and its consequences upon themselves and the whole human race.

  4. That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. (Romans 10:9-10, NKJV)

  5. That the consequence of rejecting Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior is eternal separation from God in hell. Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is to be justified by His grace with the promise of eternal life in God's presence.

  6. I believe that God created human beings as male or female, and that marriage was instituted by God as a union between one man and one woman.

  7. It is the responsibility of each individual family to abide by the teachings of Christ. We recognize the ecumenical nature of CHEACC and agree to respectfully refrain from teaching or presenting anything that would be contrary to this statement of faith in all CHEACC sponsored activities.

  8. It is the responsibility of each individual family in matters of dress, behavior and speech to be wholesome and in no way detract from the purpose of CHEACC and the principles by which it is founded.

Rev. 1/22/20

Since 1987, members have enjoyed a more enriching home education experience because of their involvement in CHEACC. Our families benefit from a wide range of support and group activities including:

  • A sense of belonging – knowing you are not alone in your home schooling journey.
  • Monthly meetings (held the 3rd Monday of each month) which provide information and support for home schooling parents. Some meetings have special guest speakers and some feature small group discussions. Others are a time of family fellowship or opportunities for students to display projects or conduct presentations or performances.
  • Monthly newsletters, posted to our members-only web-site, which include a calendar of events of CHEACC-sponsored programs and other activities of interest to home schooling families.
  • Access to a secure, members-only message board to keep you informed of upcoming events, prayer requests and praises, curriculum reviews, home school legislation issues, and even a classified section to buy, borrow, or sell goods and services.
  • Discounted group membership to FPEA (Florida Parent Educators Association). This statewide organization keeps you informed via bi-monthly publications (The Almanac) on legislative matters, seminars, curriculum fairs, and helpful home schooling information and encouragement. As an FPEA member, you will also receive discounted admission to their annual home school convention held in Orlando each Memorial Day weekend.
  • Discounted membership to HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association). This nationwide organization was established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children and to protect family freedoms. The legal help that HSLDA provides to our members ranges from legal advice to full court representation.
  • Membership card for teacher discounts at local book stores and area businesses.
  • Private, secure, and up-to-date on-line membership directory of families and students, including information on family-owned businesses and home-based services.
  • Notification of annual testing and evaluation services by certified Florida educators. CHEACC’s approved evaluators are familiar with the state statutes on home education, and will assist you in your compliance with state and local regulations regarding testing and/or evaluations.
  • Discounted Philharmonic tickets to the School Time Theater and Orchestra program.
  • Professional student portraits and school yearbooks.
  • Access to a myriad of activities sponsored by the members of CHEACC, Inc. which may include field trips, park days, social events, workshops, and special classes.
