Yearly, CHEACC sponsors a Moving Up/Graduation Ceremony on the 3rd Monday of May. This is a very special annual CHEACC event. All students who participate are given recognition, but we celebrate our graduating seniors with the following:
- Class t-shirt
- A program that features a photo & bio of each graduate
- A slide show of the graduating class with 10-12 photos of each graduate
- Opportunity for graduates to give a speech or share a talent
- Parental presentation of diploma & tassel turn to celebrate the accomplishment
- Reception decorated for the graduating class

There is a $50 non-refundable fee for each participating senior. Please note that CHEACC does NOT provide diplomas; refer to Florida State Law for guidance. Participation is limited to CHEACC members.
This is a Christ-centered, family-honoring event. If you have a graduating senior who would like to participate in the Commencement Ceremony, please register by NOVEMBER 1. Parent volunteers are also essential to make this event successful.
Needed Volunteers:
- Senior Slide Show Creator: Assist parents AS in creating their student’s slideshow pages using Google Slides. Add music and export the final video into a QuickTime format (.MOV) for the ceremony.
- Grad Meet-up Volunteers: Plan and host a fun, informal event to help graduates get to know one another before the big day.
- Decorating Committee: Design and prepare decorations for the graduation reception. We aim to arrange flowers and prepare balloon garland the evening before graduation.
- Senior Swag Bags Committee: Collect donations from parents and assemble goody bags for each graduate. Plan and host a fun, informal event to help graduates get to know one another before the big day. (If you have a Cricut, this is a great opportunity to personalize plastic bins from the Dollar Store for each student!)

- Graduate Hospitality Committee: Collect and set-up snacks for senior graduates. The room can also be decorated if desired.
- Helping Hands: Everyone! Please be available to help the evening before graduation and again after rehearsal on graduation day. Extra help may also be needed in other areas to keep everything running smoothly.
Needed Donations:
- Senior Swag Bag Donations: Donations for senior gift bags. You can buy, make, or collect donations from local businesses.
- Senior Snack Donations: Snacks for the students in between practice and the ceremony.
This event takes a lot of preparation by the families involved. If you missed the deadline, FPEA holds a statewide graduation ceremony. Their registration deadline is in the Spring. https://fpea.com/homeschooling/graduation-diplomas
